Ride days are held on the last Saturday of each month from 10am
until 4pm, unless this day is booked for a road race. Always
check the calendar on this site or phone
and talk to our Secretary to make sure it is definitely on before you
travel too far. Participants on the ride days must be financial
members of the Mount Gambier Motorcycle & Light Car Club Inc., be a
holder of a current MA licence (National, Club, Recreational or One
event) and abide by the rules and regulations regarding these licences
while on the circuit. One event licences are available on the day from
the Sign on Office in the clubrooms. All riders must report to the
Sign on Office and fill out and sign the appropriate forms before
going onto the track.Juniors
We now have permission
from MSA to run Juniors at our end of month Ride days on the road race
circuit. Juniors must be over 13 years of age but under 16 (proof of
age required). They are allowed machines up to 125cc and must either
hold a current MA licence or be assessed, by the officials in charge,
and get a recreational licence the same as all other ride day
participants. Juniors machine and riding ability must be assessed by
the Responsible Person before being allowed onto the track. The
Responsible Persons decision will be final. If you have any questions
regarding machine suitability or rider experience please
contact us. All Junior riders will need to be accompanied by a
parent or legal guardian who is in attendance at all times the Junior
is on the track. Machine and clothing requirements are the same as for
senior riders (see below). Juniors will only be allowed onto the
circuit in the Junior sessions and can not ride with seniors at any
time. They will be given 4 x 15 minute sessions during the day and
their fee will be $20. They will need to be financial members of The
Mount Gambier Motorcycle & Light Car Club

Requirements regarding protective clothing are as per the MA G.C.R. (General
Competition Rules) Book - Rule 6.1.1. A summary is as follows:-
All riders must wear
- Full one piece leathers or leather jacket and trousers which have the
jacket securely attached to the rear of the trousers. Leather may be
substituted by a material of similar or greater durability
- A back protector which is commercially manufactured
- A full-faced helmet which carries the Standards Association of Australia
"AS 1698" label or be approved by MA
- Gloves of leather or other material of similar or greater durability
- Boots constructed of leather or other material of similar or greater
durability with ankle and calf protection.
Requirements regarding machines are as follows:
- All machines must be checked by the Scrutineer before going onto the track.
- Competition (unregistered) machines must be as per MA's G.C.R. book.
- All road registered bikes must have current registration and be in a road
worthy condition.
Sessions are conducted under the control of the Responsible Person.
Riders will be separated into fast and slow groups, see session times below.
Experienced flag marshal's are in attendance, as well as a first aid person.
Come along and enjoy yourself. Flags are as per MA national rules. A table of
the flags and their meanings follows, it would pay to familiarise yourself with
these before arriving at the track as you will be expected to know there meaning
before being allowed onto the track. Please note that when the flag indicates to
stop racing (red flag) or slow down (yellow flag) this does NOT mean to STOP on
the track, but to slow down as there is some danger and keep alert to where that
danger may be.
